New Pattern Release Cardinals Chattering Wool Applique Wall Hanging

"Cardinals Chattering"
.... is a brand new pattern release..and I am so excited with the final results..I really wanted to look real and I think I achieved it. Found the perfect wool from Weeks Dye Works, I used Merlot houndstooth for the Cardinals and Spruce houndstooth for the pine needles. The tree trunk and branches I used a rich dark and mottled hand dye wool. When I finished this week...we were just getting our first snow fall..oh, snow clinging to the pine branches..but no Cardinals...so at least for now I have my wallhanging.

This pattern will be available at many of the shops listed in my blog, stop by their stores or visit their online shops to order this pattern, today.

New Punchneedle Pattern Release " Meadow Wanderings"

A few weeks ago I went out antiquing and found this wonderful ole Dresser Box, it was really grungy. With a little help from my beloved we refinished, distressed it and look at it now! I just love to use milk paint..and add a little stain to give it a wonderful patina.

From the minute I found it I knew I had to convert it to a sewing box. It looked kinda sad when all finished..so I designed my lastest release to be proudly displayed on the top of the box.

"Meadow Wanderings"...

It was created with a combination of Valdani and DMC floss, done in rich dark colors, it has a great antqiue look to it...

This pattern will be offered in many of your favorite shops in the next week or so. Check out the shops listed in my blog to order Meadow Wanderings today.

I am planning to do a complentary Wool Applique Runner to go with it.  Watch in early January 2014 for the release of the pattern

Snowman Wool Applique Series featuring Sandie & Sammie Snow plus Wool Mitten Garland

We are pleased to introduce The "Snow Family" collection of Wool Applique Snowman Patterns. All were created using Hand Dyed and Textured Wools.

The first pattern we are offering is "Sammie Snow" Snowman Guy Wall Hanging. He measures 12" by 19 1/2". I just love the gray background that is called Birch and the red is Merlot by Weeks Dye Works. We used Valdani 3 strand cotton floss through the project.

The second pattern is "Sandie Snow" and includes Snowfolk Mitten Garland.  Sandi mat is 13" in diameter. The garland was done in a variety of wools from my stash..just so primmie. Perfect to hang on the mantle...or make it really long and hang on your tree. The mittens would even be a fun project for young helping hands.

Both of these patterns may be purchased a the fine stores listed in our blog.

Keep watching our blog..as the "Snow Family" is growing...we will be offering more patterns featuring Sammie & Sandie's Kids.

New 2013 Fall Wool Applique Patterns Sunflowers & Autumn Leaves

It has been a hot and humid summer so far in the N.E...I have been just sitting in the AC stitchen away. I hate to think that summer will end..but I know the vivid colors of fall are just a few months away. My latest patterns were inspired by a new shipment of fall wools and some yearning for cooler days. I hope you enjoy the results.

"Sunflower Daze"
Wool Applique Wall Hanging

Sunflower Daze is busting with rich end of summer colors that will brighten you home right through fall.  Our sample was done in a combination of hand dyes, solids and texture to give it more dimension.

"Rustling Leaves"
Wool Applique Table  Runner

This piece was so much fun...digging though my stash of rich fall colors..of course I had to go to the local shop to buy more..now you know that my addidiction is "WooL". I made this think of using it as a table mat..but I might change my mind and turn it into a pillow..it would be a perfect addition to my couch..what do you think?

Of course these featured  patterns and many of my other patterns are avaiable at the shops listed on my blog.

Walk through the Garden

Dilly Farms Gardens
I took a break yesterday from stitching, knowing the weeds were over taking the garden. To avoid weeding I took a stroll and decided to take some photos. It was just a beautiful day..no rain, nice and breezy. I even had some of my furry friends that came along.

This is just a small view of the entire garden...stone paths layed by my Beloved, that meander through out the gardens. It really is full and lush this year from all the rain.

Miss Ribbons
"Mom" Look what I found!!!!

The clematis is just in full bloom..might be an interesting subject for a pattern down the line.

Mr Newton
"Yea, were here to weed..I found plenty for you to do Mom"

The hostas are huge this year...this is one of my favorites it is called Stain Glass

So many of my hosta's are getting chewed up..just maybe I found the source of the trouble.

Ms Sofie

Our newest addition to the farm..she just showed up a few weeks ago. Why do people just drop thier cats in the country and think that is ok? She is adjusting and making new friends. Did I mention I believe she is with children...probably in 9 weeks there will be more kitties at the farm. Oh, Joy!!!

Of course she pointed out more weeds to pull.

What is more beautiful? The delicate flowers or???

...or the lushes leaves...I think I like the leaves the best!!

Ms Ginger
"Here is more weeds Mom...get to weeding, I need to take a nap!!!!"

The last of June Flowers " Perennial Bachelor Buttons " The garden a few weeks ago was just a blaze of blue with oriental irris and the Bachelor Buttons.

Welcome Summer with cheerful " Evening Primrose"

Our Garden Protector, hope you enjoyed a stroll though the garden. Off to weeding.

New York State is having a statewide Row by Row Shop Hop...over 75 shops are participating July 1st through the end of August.

It is a fun event, each of the participating shops offer a free pattern that can be used in a row style quilt. See the Row by Row Facebook page for more details. Here is a link for a printable list of all the shops that are participating in the event.

Below is friend Peggy's pattern from the "Quilted Crow" in Harpursville NY. I just love the Crow ready to take a bite from the pie. This pattern could be part of your Row by Row quilt and or as a table mat or wall hanging. She has kits available already to go starting July 1st.

Her quaint Cabin in the Woods shop is filled with great Civil War Reproduction and other top designer fabric lines. Plus lots of Wool and patterns. She is also been showcasing some of her new patterns on her blog that come in kit form.

Oh, did I mention...Peg carries the complete line of my patterns "Crane Designs" and has all my samples on display through the end of summer. So, I hope you stop in to visit her.
